A blank sheet of paper…

“To create an image and capture energy. To take the viewer to a special place – to pause, to observe, to contemplate.

Sometimes it is an actual scene that captures a moment of social history. It can be an emotional response, a discovery or a memory……….or simply a desire to create a picture. Always a celebration of the beauty of imperfection and the challenge of giving life to a blank piece of paper.” Susan Goddard.

I love the challenge of creating an artwork from a blank sheet of paper.

The paintings in the Painting Gallery are watercolours on paper. All the white sections are the paper…….not pigment. I hope you enjoy the subtle colour variations and the delicacy of the drawing and mark-making on the paper.

The Printmaking Gallery contains images that have been printed on a Whelan etching press in the studio at silverleaf.

Our  rural property (silverleaf), is located in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia and  is a haven for wildlife and wild artists! The studio is a wonderfully peaceful place to work and create. The recent Bush series are works that reflect an intimate connection to this place.

The Artists’ Book Gallery contains images of handmade and sculptural ‘books’ made during the last few years.

I hope you enjoy the images of my recent and past work.
